The construction of these gloves is very simple. I bought them to warm my hands in the morning. They're huge - about the size of large pot holders, and you pretty much just have to sit with them while they warm your hands, or they'll kind of flap around - the inserts are like little sandbags. They didn't stay very warm for long - about 6-8 minutes after 2-3 minutes in the microwave. My hands are the size of an oversized glove and I found them too big for me. The material is very soft, the inserts smell like herbal tea, and there are two squares on each glove. One square goes in front and the other behind the small pockets in the glove. The squares warmed my palms and backs of my hands, but my fingers really needed warmth. Maybe they could work better if paired with compression gloves? It was very easy for me to return them, so it's worth a try to see if you like them. If you like just sitting in the morning and need a hand warmer for less than 10 minutes, this will help. I needed something like a 15 minute hand warmer that I could walk around with and do a few things while warming my entire arm. An information brochure on hand problems and therapies from the manufacturer is included with the gloves. Sold separately for about $10 and included free.
