The sound is fantastic and well-balanced, which was a pleasant surprise because I usually end up with headphones in which certain frequencies are so high that they convert the sound into oatmeal. (Proven effective over time) Although there aren't many bassists performing here and the volume is low, I find it to be ideal. From jazz to death metal, every genre sounds fantastic, and I listened to a lot of it. As far as portables go, I don't think you can do better than this one for the price.
