A little life saved. The first photo is new, on the wrist. The second photo is after a few weeks of heavy wear when it starts to wear out. I got this because of Dequervain's tenosynovitis. The bandage is particularly useful because I can wash my hands in it. (The velcro bandage no longer has to be ripped off and put back on every time I need to wash my handsโwhich is a lot.) The bandage lasts a couple of weeks, then starts to rot a little, loses its original color, and begins to deteriorate to wear out and break a little. It's inexpensive, I can replace it after a few weeks of heavy wear. It was quite tight on the wrist when I first got it, but I've gotten used to it. It's unobtrusive and washable, reminds me not to put pressure on that hand, thumb and wrist, provides support and my hand and thumb are beginning to heal and this brace is part of the reason for that. I replace it with fabric and velcro. late at night to give my wrist and skin a break. My wrist is 6 3/4 inches in circumference, not sure how someone with a much larger wrist would handle that. For me it really helped. i buy more *Follow-up: I've found that I can extend the life of my thumb and wrist pads if they get a little sticky by dusting them with body powder.
