The product itself now corresponds to the description except for a few small things. First, the opening at the top is too small for a few things; a) bring the ants to the farm and b) remove old food or dead ants. The stripe on the back depicting the stage wasn't an advantage. I would take it down if I ever had to do an ant farm again, which I wouldn't do. This really is the saddest thing I've ever seen. I was so excited to show the kids that I care about the lives of ants - only to see them (ants, not my kids) running back and forth, moving sand around for no reason and slowly dying. one. After 3 weeks there was one ant left, still carrying bits of sand, covering its dead friends and crouching when I added water drops or scraps of food. Old food, not eaten but covered in sand, rotting and decomposing because there is no way to get it out there. I would seriously ban these things. Of course, I was more excited and upset than my kids by the whole episode, but I would never expose anyone else to such an experience.
