At the cost of a ton of sharpness at each aperture, you can focus more accurately. They are inexpensive, but they also look cheap. The plastic feels very light and even with my 85mm 1.8" lens it feels a little sketchy. Wouldn't want to trip over anything with someone so fragile. And as I said, you suffer a lot from the image sharpness. I have an 85mm 1.8" Sony which is good for sharpness but I also have a 35mm 2.8 pancake lens which is incredibly sharp even at 2.8 but I'm throwing all that hotness out the window. The image as a whole is blurred. The autofocus is a bit of a seeker, but it hits its own territory as the plane of focus gets very thin when they're on. If you like content and don't care too much about image quality and autofocus, then, especially with adept manual focus, they can get the job done (to an extent).
