Having enjoyed shortwave listening since my early teens, this G Keni Retro AM FM Shortwave Portable Radio caught my eye, and it does not disappoint. From my easy chair, I am able to tune in shortwave stations from halfway around the world using only the built-in antenna. AM and FM performance are also quite good for such an inexpensive portable; AM reception (at night) brings me stations from hundreds of miles away. The sound is clear given the electrical interference found in my semi-rural area, and tuning is precise, with perhaps the best tuning-knob feel I've found on any sub-$500 radio. In addition to AM/FM/SW reception, I was very pleased with the Bluetooth function on my G Keni Retro AM FM Shortwave Portable Radio. Pairing was quick and easy; it's one of the better-sounding Bluetooth speakers I've seen for casual listening. The radio can also play common digital audio formats via the USB and TF-card sockets, with built-in controls for navigating through audio files. The power options are what make this radio especially useful in emergencies, storms or power outages; it can run on common D-cells as well as its included rechargeable (and replaceable!) battery, which can be recharged by the solar panel built into the radio, or through the micro-USB port. Finally, the radio includes a built-in flashlight, which also provides minimal but usable lighting to the radio dial.I am really enjoying my G Keni Retro AM FM Shortwave Portable Radio. The "retro" design is practical and functional, not just aesthetics; the sound quality is very good for its size, and sensitivity and selectivity of the tuner (the heart of any radio) is more than adequate. I'm happy to recommend this product.
