I always put one of these omni bounces on my flashes and rarely take them off. Just bought a new Metz Mecablitz 50 AF-1 digital flash which is perfect for this flash as well as the 48 and 58 models. It fits perfectly and extends the flash exactly 3/4 inch. The little flip lens built into a Metz flash just doesn't deliver the same light spread as the Sto-Fen. There have been some reports that using the Sto-Fen on these Metz flashes led to confusion with the i-TTL or Auto system, resulting in a brighter flash up to f/2. I've never seen that an omnidirectional flash does this. depending on the light emission, does not lead to an increase in the measured luminous flux. I am delighted with my Sto-Fen Metz combination!
