Just given to 7-9 year olds at a birthday party. You really have to write a lot and redraw the area several times with the "invisible" end and then work hard with the "decode" end to get a faint image. Also, you have to pull the spring end all the way out of the spring to reveal the decode end - a few people have unscrewed it etc - not exactly intuitive and you have a feeling you might break it, but that's how it works. I wanted these rather than "light" decoder pins as they are hard to see during the day, but I think that light pins are probably more comfortable to use after all. I read reviews from some people that the ink might have dried up and was hoping I got a good batch. As of 11/20/2021 - not so much. They look neat and work a little - so 3 star tops. If you're throwing a spy party, THAT was great: a top-secret notepad on dissolving paper. They Were Cool: Secret Service 6 Pieces Detective Glasses BBTO Sunglasses. It was fun for the price: A BOOK WITH PASSPORT STICKERS Fun Express ($7 for 12!). They were really good quality and everyone loved them, but I suggest you shop at a good price: BirthdayExpress Secret Agent Spy Party Supplies - Empty Boxes Favor Boxes. (I paid $1 for a box). I wish I had a great pen for these things, but instead I threw pencils in boxes for the kids to have something to write with.
