They are strong enough to be used as a plastic sleeve for clothes. We make children's clothes and take them to shows, so we carry a lot of clothes with us. The pockets are 47" long enough for dresses, plus I can tie a loose knot at the bottom. NONE have snapped yet, which is saying a lot given the amount of adjustment, disassembly, and hanging and hanging the pockets. My only complaint, and it is tiny, is that mine weren't on the roll they were flat in a non-sealable bag as soon as we started using them they started slipping and are quite dirty now I'm sure with time find a flat flat box that fits snugly and it won't be a problem for everyone plus I like them a lot.
