Problems with lighting and lighting accessories

So here's the problem: This design is a blade with LED chips on each side. This means that it mainly emits light along one axis. My Chevy Silverado's fog light housing is stretched out horizontally. If you mount the light on one side of the truck, the axis along which it shines is horizontal, which is great. On the other hand, however, the blade is oriented so that the light shines along the vertical axis, so it doesn't reflect the light well. It was not good. I didn't really pay attention to which light went out on one side of the blade, but I suspect it was this one. Water has probably penetrated the housing and short-circuited the electronics. But yes, an LED chip/crystal failed on one of the two lights so there was only half the light. This happened about 2 or 3 months later. Also, those lights weren't bright enough; I was able to get additional light to see from the side of the car, but you certainly couldn't see more than 20 feet in foggy conditions with these lights. I ended up buying another brand of lamps. , which were much brighter and could see a short distance down the road, so would work in a pinch in fog. And I could see more detail near the truck and from the side when using them. But unfortunately they had the same double sided blade design and therefore they were also oriented 90Β° on one side and I had to keep pressing them, it didn't work (completely this time). Now I'm going to use another light source which is LED chips on 4 sides plus the front LED of the projector. Just take a look. Bottom line, I will not buy these headlights again. The new lights are much better, much brighter etc. They actually have 3 sides (triangular cross-section) instead of 4, but they're still more reflective and they're actually waterproof!

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
