The perfect combination of functionality, quality and price

I'll start with the conclusion in case you don't want to read my detailed test report: I'm satisfied with this built-in multimedia system. This is the perfect combination of PRICE/QUALITY/FUNCTIONALITY. More importantly, I can follow the road and drive safely. If you are reading my review, you are probably looking for a practical, easy and reliable solution to upgrade your car radio. Let me explain why I originally chose the ATOTO F7 and my experience after two weeks of daily use. Excellent screen: It is bright, clear and colorful. The touch screen works well. Apple Carplay and Android Auto. CarPlay works perfectly. I haven't tried Android Auto, but I assume it works just as well. phone call quality. The connection quality is good. For my part, I can hear the callers very clearly. A call from a car sounds fine, but you can tell the person is speaking on the speakerphone. Siri understands me too. Simplicity. This radio runs on Linux, which means a clean user interface and only the features you need with no clutter. You cannot install apps like on Android. For me, that means I don't have to pay for features I'll never use. Tactile controls and steering wheel controls (buttons). I like operating the radio without taking my eyes off the road. The buttons are located below the screen and are easily accessible for the passenger. I connected the factory steering wheel controls, but if your car doesn't have them, you can buy an ATOTO remote to attach to the steering wheel. PRICE! For $159, that's a good deal in my opinion. I bought it along with an ATOTO AC-HD02 rear camera (stereo + camera for $200 before tax). Everything looks well designed and finished. ATOTO has been around for a while and is also known for its responsive customer support and frequent updates. sound quality. It should have been number one, but you won't be able to judge that until you've installed it in your car. It's not audiophile stereo, but it produces clear, loud sound. possibility of expansion. It has many inputs and outputs to adapt the system to your needs. You can connect rear and front cameras, two external monitors, an amplifier and a subwoofer. You can also add plenty of storage space with a microSD card and an external hard drive. Easy installation. Which is important considering the price of this device. Professional installation can cost about as much as the unit itself, so you'll most likely be installing it yourself. The instructions that come with the F7 are clear and concise. Connecting it took me less time than figuring out how to disassemble the dashboard. How does all of this translate to everyday use? It takes about 10 seconds to boot the system after the car starts (the rear camera is available almost immediately before the boot completes). I usually don't need Carplay when I drive fast and carry my phone in my pocket. It connects easily and securely with Bluetooth. User input is not required. Bonus: I can see the phone's battery level on the screen. My options at the moment: Radio: (FM and AM), strong signal, stations are programmed automatically. Phone: I tested both the built-in and external mics and was told that the external mic produced slightly better sound, so I went with this one. BT Music: (Stream music with any application on your phone) MicroSD card: up to 512GB supported. I'm using a 64GB card ($10); it fits my entire offline music collection (MP3 and FLAC files) and about 20 movies with free space). Front USB: I'm not sure I'll use it, but it's a good option. All of this provides more than enough entertainment when I'm offline. When I want to use Carplay, I plug in the USB cable and after a few seconds, Carplay loads. From there you can use all Apple Carplay supported apps. If you're looking at this device, you probably already know why you need it. I can't find any downsides to it, but I have a few suggestions for ATOTO: Add favorites to the radio interface - although I rarely use the radio, I do listen to a few stations that I like. It would be nice if I could reach them quickly. Clamp for microphone. I was surprised that the mic has a buttonhole clip (one that attaches to a shirt). There is no place on my dashboard to put it. Every mic I've seen on Revain has a clip that can be hooked to the visor or taped to the dash. Eventually I found a way to attach it to the A-pillar trim. to see the image and correct the lines at the same time. This is live video from camera or screen in settings menu. I was smart and used tape to mark what I needed on the screen and then lined up the lines with the tape taped to the screen. I only had to do this once, so it doesn't really matter. But why? Selection for the aspect ratio of the video player. I played several video files and was very happy with how the device handled the video and screen quality. My only problem is that the files stretch to fill the screen. I wish there was an option for the original aspect ratio. Mirror Link/Auto Link - It assumes your phone's screen is mirrored on the device, and it does, but there is a 2-3 second audio delay that makes it unusable for watching videos. I can't think of any other use for this feature and probably never will. Add Wireless Carplay - Adding Wi-Fi to the device won't cost ATOTO much, but it will make this stereo very desirable and competitive. Again, this isn't a required option, but it would be nice to have it. As you can see, none of my suggestions are a deal breaker or impact everyday use, but they will make this product PERFECT. I hope you find my review helpful and make choosing your next car stereo a more painless process.
