I need a short cable to connect my Android phone to my car to use Android Auto - a regular 3-6 foot -Cable works fine but leaves a lot more cable to deal with my cup holder/shifter. These short cables are perfect for charging and data transfer (albeit at USB 2.0 speeds, which is good for Android Auto) without lots of extra cables getting in the way. I could easily see it do the same to reduce clutter on a bedside table or other loading spot.
