My wife recently had brain surgery which resulted in her getting staples and stitches on the back of her head right where she put her head on a pillow to lie horizontally. After her first night home I realized she needed to get up to take some pressure off the staples and stitching so I went and found this wedge shaped pillow for her. He raises them about 30-35 degrees and puts another pillow on top that was optimal for pressure relief. She likes it and she sleeps a lot more than at night without him. It definitely helps her recover better and sleep better. For those who are concerned, this pillow doesn't have an odd out-of-the-box smell like some may have, and it's packaged rolled up - it may take a little effort to get it out. Plastic, but then it regains shape, which is pretty cool to look at. Most importantly for me, I was able to order it for same day delivery when I ordered it on my wife's first sleepless night at home. In addition, the pillow comes with an air freshener that smells divine. I am very happy with this purchase.
