I had a lot of fun running around the house vacuuming random objects to see how skinny they can get! Pillows, towels, sofa covers, crumpled shopping bags, etc. I want to vacuum EVERYTHING. It is so much fun! One in 10 bags didn't close - I think there's something wrong with the valve that's supposed to hold air. I'm pretty sure the hole was sealed tightly like the others were, but one bag had a sound that indicated the air was slowly coming back in. The other 9 packages work fine and I'm not too upset about them. The pump is much stronger than I expected. It's actually faster than my vacuum (although to be honest, I don't have a vacuum attachment that's just the right size). The ease of vacuum sealing things again makes them useful for things like guest towels - it wouldn't be hard to take off a few towels and then suck all the air out again and then put them back in etc. The cord is pretty short though, so should be fairly close to an electrical outlet. I would probably be tempted to use an extension cord, but I don't know if that would actually be safe. It does work with my cordless vacuum though, so I'll probably use it more than the pump that comes with it. Also, be careful not to run the pump for too long. I kept trying to make the bags even thinner and let the pump run for a while, although it turned out all the air was already removed. After a while I smelled burnt, although nothing felt hot. Maybe it was just the plastic smell because it was new, but I'd suggest stopping once it's clear that it's not pumping any more air out. You can also hear the tone change as you try to pump out air that is no longer there, so you can tell when the pump is working too hard. I don't think the pump poses a fire hazard, but I do think that working too hard can cause it to break down fairly quickly. Mine still works fine but I stopped using it as soon as I smelled it. I let it cool down as a precaution and after that it continued to work normally. When I first opened the package it seemed to me that all the pockets were too big, but as soon as I started putting things in it turned out to be a big chunk. Although I still haven't found a use for Jumbo. I could fit a lot of things in it, but they would still take up too much room to fit on one of my closet shelves. If you store things in the attic or basement, this is not a problem. I can't say anything about the durability yet - a valve keeps the air out when vacuuming and then there is a lid that is screwed on once. Everything is ready. I only started using these bags a few days ago. So far the air hasn't bounced back but if things grow again without me opening the box I'll be back to update my review. So far they seem pretty solid though.
