This article corresponds to the description. Has a terry texture with a water-repellent backing. I also bought protective pads for this product. As described, they definitely seem to be breathable and don't warm up because they are waterproof. They also don't make any noise or "wrinkle" when you move around in bed. However, I did not test the water resistance. I really hope they are waterproof exactly as advertised as that is the main reason for purchasing this product. My bed has "flooded" several times (to varying degrees) due to leaks from the apartment above. I bought this mattress cover to have a waterproof cover on all sides. I have to do a "test" but I didn't have time. The pillows seem to breathe a little when you first lie on them, which I believe is caused by the pillows "puffing up" after each use. But even with the slightest pressure, air easily penetrates through the fabric. I hope this doesn't show how easily the water flows in the opposite direction.
