These glasses are designed to be worn slightly lower on the bridge of the nose than normal glasses. For this reason, the bow arch is made a little wider. As a former optometrist I can say that the optics are very good and accurate, although I don't have a lensometer to check this. They're lightweight and the temples are flexible and designed to wrap around your head instead of bending behind your ears. I wouldn't heat and regulate them; they are not made of plastic. I like to wear them on my head when I'm not using them. They rarely fall off. Having used this look and brand for over 10 years I can say they are durable and scratch resistant. A pair can last 2 years or more. The only sign of aging I've seen is the peeling of the plastic layer on the inside of the temples. Usually their lifespan ends with a broken shackle. I recommend them to people who have had an eye test and know they need reading glasses with the same lens power and without astigmatism.
