This is a good size - a sandwich fits nicely on one side, some fruit slices in on compartment, and maybe a small snack in the third. It is slimmer than others I have which is no problem for the sandwich but does reduce what you can fit elsewhere. But that's not a big deal.The first issue is it's hard to open. A pre-teen and older can open it, but I'd worry about younger kids having the finger strength to unlatch the latches.Second is the compartments don't seal at all and this is made worse by the fork holder. I put bananas in one small compartment, crackers in the other, and PB&J in the large compartment. Come lunch time they all tasted like bananas, which is OK for the PB&J but not so much for the crackers.
