First off, let me say it's quality workmanship and some very nice features, especially the detachable tripod base that can be used alone. I ordered this as a lighter weight alternative to my Manfrotto Befree tripod (non-carbon version) because it should be about 1/2 pound lighter. According to the description it is 2.64 kg. When I received it, it felt quite heavy, even heavier than my tripod. I weighed it and found it weighed over 3.5 pounds unpackaged. Also, the folded length is longer than the Manfrotto. I found that I could only pull out one Manfrotto tripod leg (the one with the handle) and it was a working monopod. Perhaps the weight listed for this item is without the detachable tripod base which is listed separately as 1.27lbs? One of the main reasons I bought it was that base so I don't want to keep it to save weight. In the end it just didn't work for me, I wanted something lightweight to carry around with my camera backpack.
