They are very soft. It conforms to the shape without being tight. I still stretch but my son is skinny. Not bulging, not hanging from it. He is 5 years old and usually wears a size 5 or 5/6. I ordered 6/7 in these pajamas. Fits great. I'm going to wash it now and hang it to dry. I don't know if it shrinks (and becomes shriveled, unusable) like all brand name pajamas. The washing instructions are in Chinese (useless) so I googled it. Wash at any temperature, tumble dry very low (not hot). I will still dry. I will order more for my two young children. (even teenagers get a little jealous)
