You have to really love little things or you won't like this tiny phone. This is a working novelty and works great once you get the hang of it. Unfortunately the instructions are not very clear. The first thing you need to do is flip the SMALL switch on the side of your phone to the ON position. Unless you have a magnifying glass (I'm kidding) it's easy to miss that recessed button in the tiny hole, and if you try to charge it in the off position it won't charge. Just find a paperclip or pen, turn it on and worry no more. To be honest I didn't know about it until I took off the back of the phone and even then it doesn't say ON/OFF so I hesitated to flip it until I saw the video on youtube. I suggest you do the same, just type "L8star mini phone" and that's it. The instructions don't even mention it, except for a picture of a phone with some words next to it in another language, and since that part wasn't in English I had no idea what that meant. You need to buy a micro/nano SIM card for it if you want to use it like a real phone and not just Bluetooth with your regular cell phone. I bought a card for him here on Amazon for $10 which includes 100 minutes/text. It was very easy to activate online and my tiny phone had its number and T-Mobile service straight away (see picture). I got this phone just for fun and was pleasantly surprised that it really works and isn't expensive at all. It comes with a strap so you can wear it as a necklace, you can also wear it on a keychain. In addition, the speaker is surprisingly loud and clear for its size. The headphone clip is optional and I personally don't use one at all. I suppose if you're going to use it for Bluetooth hands-free in the car or whatever and want to talk a lot, an ear clip comes in handy. It also sounds great for playing music! I sometimes use it while walking in the park. It comes with a USB charger and charges quickly and the battery lasts quite a long time even if you use it a lot. I was impressed. This can be a little frustrating if you have big fingers or poor eyesight, although the buttons are slightly rounded, making it less likely to accidentally press others. I wouldn't use it as my only phone, but as a backup or in an emergency it's certainly good! I walk my dog in the park a lot and hate my regular phone in my pocket because it's heavy so I just grab this one and wear it around my neck. Texting can be painful because it's a number pad system, and if you're old enough to have a cell phone without a keyboard in the "early days" then you know what I'm talking about. Also, of course, the screen is very small and you have to scroll a lot, but it's very bright and clear. But that doesn't matter considering it's meant to be retro and cute; Form over function in this case. So like I said if you love miniature gadgets and have the patience for electronics this is amazing, it's fully functional and exceeded my expectations for the price. However, the instructions are unclear and some information is missing, so I strongly recommend you check out YouTube as there are many good videos that will show you exactly what to do.
