I have a 2000 W generator. Load 1500W pulled 110-120A. The 250A breaker has two problems: 1. There was a small load in the breaker even with a 120A load, causing a 0.5V drop from the battery to the load side. The longer the load worked, the greater the drop. After all, the breaker had a part? Shut down because the load side showed 3-5V. After cooling, the voltage on the battery side returned to 12.5 volts. The 0.5V drop at 120A basically tells me this thing has a 60W load in the trigger mechanism itself, which tells me it's under load to keep up with the power drawn. How do I know it was working at 120A and 1500W? I have a Victron Smart Shunt which tells me the exact load the Samlex inverter was drawing. To confirm my suspicion that it was a bad switch I disconnected the battery and the load side of the switch to bypass the cut off mechanism and all worked fine. only under load for about 2 minutes with no jumpers, the circuit breaker was already over 100F at 60F outside. This switch is dangerous. Do not buy.
