This is easily the coolest multi tool I've ever seen! It has a hatchet, a hammer, a magnesium rod (to start a fire), a whistle, a knife, a double file, some screwdrivers, a bottle opener... just missing a pistol and a beer! Just by holding it, you triple your testosterone! But there are a few issues, so let's start with that. There is no user manual, and while you might think a multi-tool doesn't need one, it would be nice if I had a guide on how to find some of the items in the tool. The magnesium rod (which is also a safety whistle) was hard to find, as were the three extra screwdriver bits on top of the ax head. Once I found those things, it took me a hell of a long time to delete them. I painfully pulled my fingernail back to pry out the magnesium rod (I ended up using a mini pry bar on a free credit card tool), and the pouch, which holds three extra screwdriver bits, just twisted away from the tool after a while . looking and poking around with a flat screwdriver quite enthusiastically. This swivel bag has never come loose, even after dousing it with heavy gun oil and working back and forth for about ten minutes. The tongs are spring-loaded for one-handed use, and the knife and hatchet are razor-sharp. However, I could not elicit a spark from the magnesium rod. In the picture you can see the guy scraping the rod against the file and making sparks, but I can't see anything other than peeling the black coating off. The whistle is VERY high pitched to my dog's chagrin and sounds loud enough to call for help from a distance. And when I slip the tool into the included belt holster (the name is apt), it generally looks like a pistol. In today's world, walking around with what looks like a gun in a holster might not be the wisest choice. In short, it looks and feels like an amazingly handy multi-tool. I'll post an add-on after taking this thing on a hike. Durable in the living room and durable outdoors are two different things.
