We have a house that is over 100 years old and I'm pretty sure the solid wood staircase to the basement is the original design. They are very durable but the wood has been sanded over time and the edges are rounded which always makes me feel like I'm falling down the stairs. I put this tape on every step and now I feel more confident. The tape was very easy to apply. Simply cut, peel backing and stick. I had to remove and reapply a few times to get what I wanted and it left no residue and kept it tacky too. A few days later and no sign that the tape has gone anywhere. I would NOT want to fall down the stairs with this stuff because I'm sure the sandpaper texture won't be nice against your skin, but with this tape you're even less likely to fall. It is no problem to walk on it in socks, shoes or even barefoot. There were no bad odors when opening the strap, which was nice. Definitely recommended for indoor and outdoor stairs and ramps.
