28 Nov 2018 UPDATE I received the replacement a few days after the first. So I've had my second device in continuous use for a year without any problems. The screen is fine and collects dust, having never been removed from its place next to the Belkin surge protector. It's used every day to charge four 18650 batteries for my Aspire Speeder (a vape that uses two 18650 batteries so their Nitecore chargers always have two batteries waiting to be swapped out multiple times a day), a Zmax Phone, a 120GB Zune I've been using since 2007 (don't laugh bro, it looks new even after I personally replaced its hard drive about 5 years ago), Nook Glowlight and Nook HD+, several different portables Power adapters and all sorts of other electronic devices. I like it enough to buy another one if this one doesn't work. The only thing I will not connect is my new Galaxy Note9 because I am concerned about the battery being damaged due to the history of this charger/model. I use either my computer's USB 3.0 port or the power bank for this phone. The seller emailed me today to offer me $35 to remove my original one star review. I initially agreed to change this to 4 or 5 stars and add new information about the replacement device, but refused to remove the information about the first device. I thought maybe this is being offered because product quality control has changed for the better. The seller said that it is better to remove the rating completely. I usually leave positive reviews rather than negative ones, it takes quite a long time to give a star. Since genuine positive Revain reviews are hard to come by and I object to the plethora of fake or corrupt Revain reviews, I declined and said again that I would edit this review to add new information but would not accept a bribe for information to delete* . English is not the seller's first language so they thought I would ask for a replacement and said they didn't want to send a replacement as they couldn't be sure there would be no problems with the replacement unit. To me, this means that quality control in the production of these devices has not improved over the past year. So I changed my mind and said no and kept my money. If they are unsure about sending a replacement, there is still a risk of damaging the electronics or starting a fire in their home and they need to know that. Now I'm worried that other people were asked to remove their negative reviews about this cheap device, and they actually did. my Belkin surge protectors and then just plugged in a Nitecore charger first to see how much current it would draw. Then, two hours later, I connected one of my Bluetooth speakers and my phone. Everything looked fine until about three hours later when I turned off my phone. The Vanbon device was dead and felt too warm. I unplugged everything, let the unit cool down and tried plugging it back into different outlets, but it was toast. The screen would no longer turn on and nothing would charge. I will call for an exchange or refund.
