Review on Black/Tan Solo New πŸ–€ York Duane Hybrid Laptop Briefcase by Todd Amarsingh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good but could be better

I bought this bag to see if I liked the style and the price was right. I've been eyeing the Topo Design bag, but yeah, $200 for a bag is a bit much these days. I want to reduce what I carry, especially on Fridays. And finally, it's nice to be able to combine casual and business wear in one bag. Here are the pros and cons and what I can live with, albeit not perfect. Pros: Cost - around $35 for a reasonable price; capacity - not too big and not too small; Style - I like that fact. The bag can be carried in 3 different ways: by hand, over the shoulder (messenger style) or as a backpack. The weight is a light bag and even with items inside it distributes things well. 3 Star Rating: Material - Seems a bit flimsy and not waterproof, not sure if it will hold up over time or not. Zippers - Non-YKK zippers also feel flimsy and aren't the best for easy opening and closing. but it works fine. Not perfect, but manageable: a plastic cap that I'm not a fan of but can live with. Also, the strap should only be fully removable at one end and not the other. A nice feature would bring the rating back to 4 stars: Cordura fabric or something waterproof. Better zippers, better clips. Thread through the luggage port and the charge port, which is either an internal or external outlet for charging your tablet or cell phone. There are others on Revain that I probably should have researched, but I liked the internal organization of this one and went for it. If they come out with another one I'll check it out again and even pay a little more to delist and include the cons.
