When I ordered this I was thinking I could also store my body soaps, lotions, and perfumes, but the shelves were not tall enough. The way it was designed was for jewelry and cosmetics and I love it. I have toddler aged daughters who would grab my make up and jewelry off my dresser. Now they cannot access my things because I keep it locked. I love the mirror and so does my husband and girls. Well worth the investment
