Yes, the device is very light and a little wobbly. It needs to be fixed to the wall to keep it from tipping over. The holes should be large enough to accommodate backpacks when inserted from bottom to front. Not much clearance from bottom to floor. It would be a good idea to get milk crates to get the device off the ground, and shoes and boots can be placed in the milk crates. The sides are fabric and tear easily but not really needed. Easy to assemble if you remember to attach the fabric BEFORE locking the pieces in place (easy to forget). It will NOT support the child's weight and will not stand when climbing on it.
