I needed a "Z" mount for a macro project and was looking at many options among similar devices. The real "advantage" for me was the lever handles on this Neewer device. When I opened the box and started playing with it, it was pretty obvious that the little "flaps" on the adjustment points would be easy to operate and would hold even the heavier camera/lens combo securely. The extra "leverage" easily applied with these flaps makes it easier to "lock" the base. Disconnecting is also easy. Many times I've had devices that seem to go into "permanent lock mode" and won't unlock. I also appreciate how these flaps can be moved anywhere within the 360 degree access required. The rest of the processing quality of this "Z" mount is also top. No complaints!
