Review on Marmot Essential Lightweight Waterproof Technology Outdoor Recreation by Brian Krump

What a disappointment - this isn't the groundhog I've always counted on

I'm 5ft 4in, 125lbs and the small size was just right. I ordered this jacket in September and wore it today. the first time in the rain. Strongly disappointed. To be honest, I'm comparing it to the same rain jacket that Marmot made a few years ago. What the hell happened, groundhog? While the earlier coat's material was soft but waterproof, this coat is stiff and crinkled; constantly rustling. Velcro will tear anything woven, like gloves or a scarf. And the velcro came loose when I just used those closures on the front instead of using both the zipper and velcro tabs. The old closures were much better. There is no inner pocket and the cut is shorter - it barely covers my butt when I sit down. To be honest it looks like a cheap imitation of a Marmot product. I recently bought a similar raincoat from Costco for $20, it's a much better product. I should have listened to my intuition when I received it and just sent it back. At least they didn't change the color of the blue - it's beautiful. .
