I bought my son for 5 years, he runs small, I have a size 4-6. Haven't tried it yet. (Birthday next week) He'll love it. The belt has small snap pockets and I'm sure a sword can be slipped in to "pack" it in the belt. I am basically very satisfied with this. My only complaints about rip-1. Overshoes are huge. That's twice or even three times more than his feet. They would fit my leg and I'm a grown woman.2. For the price I would have liked adjustable shoulder straps. They have a little buckle as if they can be tightened or loosened but that's just for show. As I said. In general I'm very happy with the quality and may try to change the boots to make them fit better.
