A USB flash drive will wear out unless you pull it straight up. I use them in clubs so DJs generally don't care and they pull sideways a bit when removing the drive causing solder joints to break. Sometimes soldering the pins solves the problem, but be careful with the ribbon cable when removing the top part. You can easily mess up the device, and I mean easily. You can also find a small USB board replacement online if you need to replace it.
