To be honest. I didn't expect any joy from this purchase. Next day delivery aside (Yayyyyy!) I was skeptical. The instructions on the product page are accurate. You need PATIENCE to put this on the Apple 1st Gen Pencil. Once you relax and take your time, installation will be easy. Please do not slide the pen out of the cap into my holder. Also, do not use the protective cap on the holder as a handle to pull during installation. No bueno. After getting this holder and installing it (I removed my old parts of the holder first), here are my thoughts from day one. I will update later after longer use. Pros: 1) Installation was easy as some reviewers have suggested. . If you follow simple and precise instructions and pictures, it will not be a problem. It takes patience. The fact that it doesn't slide in easily means it won't slide out easily. 2) The coverage is very reliable. This little thing isn't going anywhere anytime soon. 3) The color is exactly the same as the one I chose. This is the lightest pink. Yes, I'm talking about this life. The last set of holders I bought were wrong color and misleading. i am happy here 4) Silicone material is not slippery. I would say matte. It's smooth enough not to irritate my skin, yet provides a secure grip so you don't lose your pen. .6) It is shaped like a soft pyramid! Surprise surprise. I must have missed that description. Why is it important? This prevents the pen from rolling off the desk or table and provides extra comfort when holding the pen. Additionally, there are textured grooves on the bottom of the holder to provide additional support for grip and comfort. You can use it or a little twist to use the smoother part. A win-win situation. Cons: Haven't found one yet. Stay tuned for updates in a few months. TL; DR: It's comfortable, durable, has accurate color reproduction compared to product images, and is worth buying. I highly recommend it to students, teachers working from home/teleworkers, as well as employers and artists using their iPads.
