Not as easy to use as they say. if you haven't read the manual

This is my true friend I record everything on. It's so easy to use! However, it has so many settings that it confused me once I started using it. The video is heavily compressed. So if you're shooting in a dark room, you're better off pressing the iA (Intelligent Auto) button and letting the camera figure out the best settings. I love the fact that I can take manual focus and blur the background and focus the subject, and it also has an assist grid that makes it easier for me to shoot using the rule of thirds. I didn't like that it didn't have a Firewire port. In fact, this is a major inconvenience that I did not expect. Maybe because (unexpectedly for me) I received the Japanese version of this camera. It has a weird port not used here in America. I used this camera with my Canon T2i to capture beautiful scenes. Using Adobe Premiere Pro I was able to color match the footage to the phenomenal T2i and get some amazing footage. The material straight from the camera is too boring. I added a UV filter and lens hood and the footage is much better, but it's still far from a DSLR. However, it is much easier to use. I hated this camera when I first got it, but it was my own fault for not reading the manual as usual. Now I love my little friend! READ THE FULL MANUAL! Please note that the footage looks like it was taken with a mobile phone if you try to shoot instantly in low light conditions! However, with the right settings, you will get good results. Add a good video light and you won't have a problem. You can also purchase a high capacity battery. I bought two batteries and a charger from Amazon for a ridiculously low price. Maybe $30. Now I can shoot more than six hours.

Pros
  • Recording on 120GB built-in HDD or SD memory cards
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
