I tried this long haired thing for the first time and was unhappy with all the very old rubber bands I got off my have borrowed from a partner. I didn't know these rubber bands had rubber woven into them. I thought it was just a unique shape but I kept the hair. Other than that I'm happy with the purchase as they do a great job of holding up my hair that isn't long enough yet. With the old hair ties I would have to adjust them regularly, with these not. They work great on dry or wet hair and I pull through the hair 3 times to make 3 loops to keep it tight enough. to prevent slipping. Based on an experiment I did back in high school, my hair is about average thickness for someone in the upper Midwest United States. Some reviews have complained that they pull hair, but my experience has been good. Yes, it hugs the hair better than a traditional hair tie, but I don't have a problem with the slow tug. When I pull the tape out, there's usually no hair on it, but when I do, there's usually a hair or two left. I hope this helps you decide.
