I bought this bedside charger primarily to charge my iPhone 6 Plus while I sleep. I also wanted it to hold my phone upright so I could easily hit the snooze button lol. I use the alarm feature in the Clock app on iPhone and it works great. Allows you to wake up to the music you choose from your own music library, plus the much-needed 'repeat' feature. The dock also lets you place your phone on it, even when you're not using the Lightning connector. You just have to rotate the plug forward a little to make room. My iPhone has a Sahara case (see link below) which is not thick and charges well. My only concern with this dock is the durability of the lightning connector and whether it will remain intact after 100 charges. Only time will tell, but so far I like it.
