UPDATE: After a few months I'm throwing away the screw connectors. Pigtails are fine, but there is a spring clip that blocks the screw terminals from opening and prevents small strands of wire from entering. Some had open circuits inside that were difficult to debug. The screws are further stripped. When they tried to return to the valley, they switched to that style as well. See item B079RBL339 for the chanzon part I finally settled on. My original order had all the same sex braids, the seller was quick to replace them with another full order. All is well! Until I started digging through a few screw connections. Many have screws that are easy to remove (I've been using this type of connector on security cameras for years and have never removed the screw). None of them have terminal holes that are actually open: I can't insert stranded CAT5 wire or thin wire because it's not stiff enough to push through the metal tab even with the screw fully extracted. All of these commercial connectors look the same, but they are not all the same.
