We purchased this toy for our one year old and our four and a half year old to share. They both loved it! There are small pieces so the one year old definitely requires supervision and should not be left to play independently. There are features that appeal to each age group.My husband spent approximately one hour assembling it. He is extremely handy and commented that a power drill is really a must for assembling. While it can be put together without one, it is much easier with it! There are stickers to put on as part of the assembly so be prepared for that, too.All in all, great toy and a big hit with my two boys!
