Review on ๐ŸŽฎ High Definition VGA/RGB/CGA/EGA/YUV to HDMI Video Output Converter Board for Arcade Blue - Atomic Market by David Ross

Revainrating 3 out of 5

No support for 75 Hz on the VGA input.

I wanted to like it but in the end I had to return it. This item appears to be designed to fit into an arcade machine or similar device that has replaced the CRT with a flat panel display. You get an empty board and pigtails for power and RGBHV. You choose RGBS/CGA support and 5V power supply. There is no documentation and the menu defaults to Chinese. (Note: Voice option #3.) This draws at least 10W so you're not powering it from a 5V 2A USB thingy. I like the flexibility of the input options and might consider this again, when I need CGA. Support. I returned it because the VGA DOS text mode is 700x400 at 75Hz and my board was out of sync with that signal. This is one of the most common VGA modes after 640x480. What finally satisfied my needs was Fosmon Component (YPbPr) / VGA to HDMI Converter Box Video Upscaler (720p/1080p) also available from Revain.

Pros
  • Supports RGBS/CGA/RGBHV/EGA/VGA input.
Cons
  • Some errors
