Review on πŸ“Ή ZOSI 1080p Lite 16 Channel Security DVR - Hybrid 4-in-1 CCTV Recorder with Motion Detection, Remote Control, Email Alarm, 2TB Hard Drive Included by Charles Lewis

Works fine but only p2p with no rtsp so I replaced it.

It would be a lot of work for me to switch to Ethernet, I have 16 BNC cameras spread over the field, indoors and outdoors. At the same time, it's not worth spending tons of money on a BNC system if I end up pumping. Bought to replace a very old DVR. This system works well, actually I have no particular complaints, I add Wi-Fi and IP cameras to the old video surveillance system, but I leave the DVR (behind the firewall and don't want it to disconnect or connect) and won't do use the manufacturer's applications . The problem with this system is p2p only in this case, there are no rstp streams you can integrate with Blue Iris, use vlc to browse, homeassistant etc. To use with an app (desktop or phone but I don't have) used or installed to access this DVR), they should contact the P2P authentication server. I don't want any outgoing or incoming messages other than my local or VPN on my local network. I've only had it for a short time 3 or 4 months, it's been doing its job temporarily since my old dash cam died and I wanted something quick while I figured out what to do. I replaced it with a hybrid DVR that supports IP + BNC and is based on Hikvision so it has rtsp streams and a built in web server so I can mix and match old and new until I hopefully send rtsp streams to Blue Iris Home Helper send and can Avoid software applications with vlc that use rtsp streams. I don't really test movement, I mostly just continuously record and review it, so I can't comment on that. Although this is normal for a basic cheap DVR, the video was good, it's quiet, had no problems with it. If your cameras are outside then you're fine, or if you don't mind using p2p (which most cameras use).

Cons
  • Almost everything is ok
