My trusty but insatiable 3 year old Canon Pixma finally died and I had to find a replacement. After extensively reviewing affordable all-in-ones (including initial servicing inks) and finding nothing without mixed reviews (regardless of price), I settled on my first Brother. Aside from being a bit noisy when ejecting paper, this seems ideal. with compact design, intuitive operation, ultra-fast and beautiful printing (even double-sided) and flawless batch scanning and copying. So far, so good. Only time will tell how long it will last without printing or paper handling issues (as printers tend to evolve). My only criticism isn't the car, it's the Revain. They lowered the price twice within 2 weeks of my $206 order. (once before it even shipped) - and now it's $55 less than what I paid for. Since they removed their price drop refund policy it's too late for me but the price is absolutely stolen now. Incidentally, Staples has last year's version of this device on sale for $199.
