These booties are very durable - my golden retriever was able to wear a pair multiple times. He's older so I bought them to give stability to his hind legs which tend to weaken with age. You worked for it. He wore them on our long walks (5-7 miles) and they were very durable. He successfully swam in them, but they do not protect against water. That wasn't a problem for me, but maybe for some. Another issue is that they are very tight and the opening tends to curl up after tightening, making them tighter. I couldn't fix this problem. And yes, I measured correctly and there was plenty of room in the booties for his legs - they weren't tight or too loose. Just too tight at the ankles.
