Assembled this side table is very durable and has a modern farmhouse look. I love the clean, modern style of the black frame. IMPORTANT: Wooden top and bottom shelves have a VERY RUSTIC look. It's like gluing several unfinished 1X4 pieces together and then sanding them down a bit. Fairly functional, but not perfectly smooth or totally flat to the touch. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble. The smooth-topped screws are fairly easy to screw in using the included hex tool inserted into the recesses of each screw head. I had to put some effort into the frame pieces to line them up with the threaded holes I pre-drilled in the wooden shelves and ended up spraying some WD-40 on the threads of the very last screw. .
