That's why I gave this one star because it's very difficult to find towels for this towel tree. The height of the tall bar is about 12.75 inches and the short bar is 11 inches. Standard towels are approximately 15 inches high. I was looking for a towel to go with this towel tree but couldn't find one. I either have to drape the towels over both bars, which is not intended for this product, or use the smaller square towels. Square towels look weird. Therefore, the only solution is to throw them over both poles. It's a shame because I use it in the kitchen. I want to use one to wipe my hands and the other to wipe the counter. Now I'm stuck with only one as I have to throw 1 towel over both bars. ***EDIT*** I found something that works so I'm giving this towel rail 3/5 stars instead of 1/5. You need to buy "fingertip towels". I decided to buy 2 identical towels to fit both rods. Both are 22 inches (making it 11 inches tall).
