My wife and I were remodeling our kitchen and spent a lot of time looking for the right chairs for the kitchen island. For a few years we even lived with ordinary chairs. I stumbled across this chair for the first time in a designer showroom and was impressed by the floor standing model. When the chairs went on sale at Revain I decided to buy them despite some reviews about the quality of the product. I bought 4 chairs and just assembled them. Both seats had small dents/scratches on the underside of the domed walnut top that can only be seen upon closer inspection. The underside of one of the base plates had anti-chafing tape applied unevenly - I reapplied the tape to the metal edge and it was fine. Although these chairs are imported from China, overall they are just great. For an investment they are much better finished than the average bar stool and will suit the decor of any modern sophisticated home. Based on the results of the purchase, I recommend.
