I bought these hoping they were the right size for our microscope's eyepieces. They're a bit small for that (diameter), but I've found another great use for them. First, they work well for beads or other small items. The lids can be screwed on tightly and are a good size for small storage spaces or to take to "camp". We mainly use them as collection bottles when we collect samples under the microscope from a pond on our property with our nieces. . (By the way, we draw up this liquid with pipettes bought here at Revain. I can't remember what they're called, but they're long, disposable plastic pipettes. 100 per box.
