Honestly. I did not take the blanket out of the packaging. I opened the plastic container and felt the fabric. It was very disappointing. It was smooth and silky. It didn't have the softness of natural cotton. If I had to guess, I'd say it's some sort of cotton/poly blend. Also, as one of the other reviewers said, it's a yellowish color and not the sand or ivory color as the label says. I ordered it knowing it might be yellow so that style doesn't bother me. This makes it look a bit antique. But if you need a soft blanket to keep your guests warm on a summer night with the air conditioner on, I don't think this is a blanket. If you are looking for a thick woven blanket that is a little silky to the touch, this is the one for you. Not fluffy or absorbent at all, but as I said, a bit silky (similar to a synthetic fabric).
