I couldn't find a skeg guard for a Mercury 25hp Bigfoot anywhere. 2001. In my research trying to find a weld on a replacement skeg, I found that the skeg I would need was actually for a 40-60hp Mercenary. So I took a chance and ordered this skeg shield. The motor I bought from the shed was missing part of the skeg so I had to drill another 5/16" hole to install it. Yes, this may void my warranty, but it saved me loads of time. If I were really smart I could cut this skeg guard around the gear case with a belt sander and it would fit perfectly.
