Broken screen protectors

I don't know what's going on but since I switched to this case I've had 2 screen protectors broken in 2 weeks. That's super unusual for me. It seems to me that the border around the screen isn't high enough and that's why my screen protector catches everything. I'm afraid to try it without a protective film.
