Review on πŸ–€ KEVYN AUCOIN Black Indecent Mascara by Angela Mitchell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

excellent black; a bit clumpy for me but good overall

I'm quite picky about mascaras; I like the elongated, crisp look, but I hate clumsiness of any degree. I usually use Yes, They're Real by Benefit because the unique brush gives me the results I like, but I always wish the formula was a little darker (I have light lashes) so I'm never 100% satisfied . Good mascara as it should be for the price. It's nice and dark and (mostly) stays in place without peeling. I have closed eyelids and this requires a setting spray to keep it from getting on the upper lid, but that's not uncommon. I haven't noticed any growth (it's supposed to stimulate lash growth) but my lashes haven't fallen out like I did with Blinc so I'm fine. Maybe it seemed to me, but after removing makeup, they seem softer. The formula is very good. I love how black it is. It really gives me the color I crave. However, it gets lumpier at the roots than we'd like. It's not bad, but it's also not a very clear separation. It reminds me of Definicyls, which always do me good for the first week and then get lumpier over time. The applicator is great for applying to the corners of baby lashes and gives a nice lengthening effect, but I find the large round center picks up too much product (probably that's why it gets clumpy) and I have to wipe it off before applying (so wasted product). ) ). It takes most of the day and does not hike. It is easily removed with micellar wipes or makeup remover and a mild detergent. This isn't the mascara of my dreams, but the formula is close. It's a brush, I think it's not quite right for what I want. However, I've seen a lot of makeup tutorials where the lash roots have that clumpy look, so it might just be personal preference. This is a good mascara and the price is reasonable for the quality. I would order it again at least for evenings if not for work.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
