These ice grips are a godsend. During my first winter in Maine (2013), I fell off my husband's wheelchair ramp six times. I didn't even know these things existed until a friend told me about them. I used them for the first time three days ago and managed to remove an inch of ice from a 40 foot ramp without slipping! They attach easily and stay in place. One thing: Make sure you put them near the door if you have a hardwood floor, marble, ceramic tile, or any other type of carpet. They'll stick to the ice like no other, but if you try to walk with them on the hardwood floor (as I stupidly did without thinking), you'll slip. But don't let that hold you back. As I said, I just put them on right at the door before leaving and take them off right at the door upon entering. With these ice grips I can get through the winter without breaking my stupid neck.
